A small 4-1/2 inch tall double loop carbon filament lamp made by the Franklin Electric Manufacturing Company "FEMCO" in the earlier 1900s. They were based in Conneticut, USA and had offices in Hartford, with the lamps made in their factory in Middletown.

The outer label that would identify this as a Femco bulb has since been lost however the patent label in the stem carries an identifying mark that gives its origin away. Printed over the text is a kite-shape symbol as you can see in the picture on the right up there, this identifies it as a Femco bulb. Symbols printed on patent labels are often found and usually mimic the shape of the outer label- and since many companies had unique shaped labels, the symbols inside can be used to identify their manufacturers after the outer labels are gone.
