Blue and red National Mazda tungsten bulbs

Blue and red tungsten cage filament lamps Voltage- 110-120v
Wattage/rating- 50w (?)
Filament- Tungsten cage, 6-over-7 supports
Cap type- US Std base
Circa- 1915-1920?
Finish- Cobalt blue and Ruby red coloured glass
Origin- USA

These large tungsten cage filament lamps are just under 5-1/2 inches tip to base and carry "GE-National Mazda" etching (you can see it on the left hand blue one). They are made of quite heavy genuine coloured glass- they aren`t painted or lacquered. The ruby-red one looks almost black when off, and glows with a striking deep red. The cobalt blues are an extremeny attractive and eye catching colour on and off, these pictures don`t do them justice.

They came originally from an old theatre which closed in the 20s (probably intended for use above the entrance), and date to the mid to late 1910s as later types would have been tipless. These type of lamps were also made in green and yellow/amber coloured glass too (which I do not have yet) however greens are quite scarce and yellows are near-impossible to find and are very sought after by us collectors.
